Where do you live in London and what do you love about that area?
I live in London Fields in Hackney and I love that I can cycle everywhere and stop for awesome coffees along the way! There is a good vibe going on over east and it feels great to be a part of it. It’s like every corner has something creative going on from food and fashion to film and music. Being able to pop down to Columbia Road on a sunday morning to order a little handheld breakfast whilst watching some curb side music is pretty cool. Summer in London Fields or Victoria park is super chilled and full of young people getting their kicks for free.
Tell us about what you do for a living?
I am a Director and part owner of a production company called FAMILIA We do Advertising, Music and Fashion films. I love music videos and have been lucky to have shot in some awesome locations around the world.
What are some of your favourite places in London to shoot?
Art plays a massive role in shaping the style of my films from locations and textures to props and wardrobe. Regarding locations in london, I prefer the aesthetic of East London as it has the cobbled streets, graffiti and interesting architecture rather than your typical high street feel.
What have you got coming up in 2015?
I have just got back from Cape Town where I shot my first music video for 2015 and I am currently editing it at Stitch in Soho. I have another secret music video in the pipeline and if all goes well looks like I will be flying out to Miami to shoot in the next few weeks.
Between shoots, I love to surf and can’t wait to catch a few waves in Brazil next month while I’m there for Carnival (beats the 5 hour drive down to Devon).
Finally, what would be your perfect day in London?
Hmmm. Wake up without a hangover and head over to The Laundry or E5 Bakery for breakfast. Stop by Violets and grab a coffee for the journey. Cycle over to Victoria park with my lady and as we approach the canal, we see a small rideable wave (dreaming here). A youngster hands me a surfboard and says “have a go” – I jump in and surf for an hour. Stoked, I lie in the sun and dry off whilst being fed fresh fruit and drinking G+T’s. I get a call saying The Foals want me to shoot their new video. Head for sundowners in London Fields with a bunch of friends and then grab dinner at Bistroteque.
