week’s LDNER is a lunch time treat having co-founded Lunch BXD, a lunch delivery service that knocks out healthy salads, but they’re so much more than lettuce leaves. Vibrant vegetables, wholesome grains, fresh herbs and zingy dressings or dips topped with crunchy nuts and seeds. Meet the chef, Naomi…

Where in London do you live and what is it that you like most about that area?

I live in Camberwell in South East London and I love all the parks and pubs in the area. Lots of new places keep popping up all the time too. My favourite for coffee and bread is Foulds Cafe which is at the front of an upholsterers by Burgess Park

So tell us how Lunch BXD was born?

I’m a chef and I was working with my friend Anna on a cooking job and we just came up with the idea whilst we were talking about the food we like to make at home. We often find specifically ‘healthy food’ is quite bland or restrictive or doesn’t fill you up and wanted to show that food can be naturally healthy but also tasty and satisfying to eat.

As we are heading into the festive season, what would be a tempting Christmas Lunch BXD dinner?

We’ve just been writing some recipes for Christmas time! Turkey meatloaf is up there and mulled chocolate pots with creme fraiche. For a canapé try wrapping a quarter of a fig in parma ham with a walnut and teaspoon of gorgonzola inside for an alternative version of devils on horseback.

Where are some of you favourite places to eat in the city?

If we’re having work drinks we sometimes head east and up to Broadway Market too or Bermondsey is always fun. Our kitchen is in Lambeth North and we’re slowly exploring some of the tucked away arches around here and Waterloo too.

Finally, what would be your perfect day in London?

How about mooching along Bermondsey Street and then heading to Maltby Street for brunch (one of their cheese toasties!) then walking along along the river to Damian Hirsts new gallery at Vauxhall followed by some mulled wine at the German Market by Southbank (or the Hunger Games at the IMAX!)

And as a treat you can try a Lunch BXD and get 10% off your first order with the code ‘INSIDELONDON’. Enjoy.
