LA’S SPARROW IS FLYING INTO MAYFAIR THIS AUTUMN

London is getting another Italian restaurant later this year when LA’s Sparrow, from US hospo group 33 Noble, flies across the pond and roosts in Mayfair. The London outpost will be known as Sparrow Italia (to avoid confusion with Sparrow in Lewisham) and will serve up the same brand of ‘modern coastal Italian’ food they’ve been doing in the States. Split across three floors, Sparrow Italia will include a bar and lounge on the ground floor, a dining room and outdoor terrace on the first floor, a parlour dining room on the second floor, and a cigar lounge occupying the third floor, will lots of wood, marble, emerald and blue adding to the Mediterranean vibe.

AJ McCloud, who heads up the LA kitchen, will be in charge of the menu development for London, which will include house-made pasta, fresh seafood, wood-fired pizzas and other Italian classics. We don’t know exactly what those dishes will look like yet, but with the likes of grilled octopus with garlic crema & baby potatoes, braised beef cheek & bone marrow agnolotti, angel hair puttanesca, lobster al forno, chicken parmigiana, and wagyu alla vodka pizza on the LA menu, you can get the gist of what to expect.
