down kids… not the actual Lady Gaga, but her famous bin bag ensemble by designer Gareth Pugh can now be seen at the WOMEN POWER FASHION exhibition at London’s Design Museum!

The dress (made entirely out of shredded bin bags) was worn by Gaga for an O2 TV promo for her ARTPOP album, and she also wore it to her artRAVE album launch party last year.

WOMEN FASHION POWER, which is at the Museum in London until 26th April, celebrates exceptional women from the spheres of politics, culture, business and fashion; looking at how influential women have used fashion to define and enhance their position in the world. Pugh’s aim from his A/W14 collection was to showcase how you can create something beautiful and luxurious out of a material that is extremely inexpensive and volatile.

We’re not entirely sure what we would think if we saw someone walk past in an outfit made entirely of bin bags – but we understand it would certainly make us look and think ‘they’ve got some balls’. Probably not appropriate attire for work, but hey it’s the 21st century, and fashion has no limits!

The dress will be on display to the public from Wed 20th January, 2015, 10.00am – 5:45pm
