spring days are lightening up, and so is La Sera’s Katy Goodman: ‘Hour of the Dawn’ is her third album away from her Vivian Girls bandmates, and it’s a trip away from the heartache that defined the first two.

She’s put together a new band to back up her “faster, louder and more aggressive” sound, so expect full-bodied songs at the meeting point of girly harmony and angry snarl. With a raft of punk and new wave influences, the album promises a sprightly retro sound for spring.

‘Hour of the Dawn’ is out on May 13th via Hardly Art, and the band hit the UK soon after. Set your alarms.
