KUNG FU NOODLE TO OPEN IN CHINATOWN

A live noodle pulling restaurant is coming to Chinatown, a first for the neighbourhood, as Alex Xu opens Kung Fu Noodle later this year. And it’s not his first Chinatown rodeo as he’s also the man behind other bubble tea spot Happy Lemon and Taiwanese dessert shop Meet Fresh. Kung Fu Noodle, which’ll have 50 covers spread across two floors, will take up residence on the corner of Wardour Street and Shaftesbury Avenue and will showcase the art of noodle pulling (the name comes from the hand-pulling action, which makes the chefs look like they are practicing kung fu) with a number of authentic noodle dishes on the menu.

We don’t know exactly what’ll be on the menu apart from Lanzhou beef noodle soup, a dish that’s popular in the Gansu province in northwest China that’s made with hand-pulled noodles (obvs), a clear broth, sliced beef, radish and chilli oil, so watch this space for more…
