Twigs on Broadway Market was a regular lunchtime haunt of ours so we were sad to see it go earlier this year, but we’re excited about what’s going to be taking its place. The Koya team are moving in and opening Koya Ko, a more casual version of the udon noodle spots in Soho and the City. Inspired by the train station noodle bars in Japan, Koya Ko will bring the country’s tachi-gui (that’s standing while dining) culture to East London, with a standing counter alongside both indoor and outdoor tables.
No menu details have been revealed yet but we’re expecting a fun take on the classic Koya udon and donburi dishes made using the best seasonal produce, and all dishes will be available to takeaway too – lunchtimes are looking up.
