JAE KOREAN FOOD POP UP IN DALSTON

You might know him from Million Pound Menu, or as the person who opened London’s first vegetarian cookery school, but now Jay Morjaria is taking on a brand new challenge in East London. JAE is a semi-permanent residency in Dalston highlighting Korean anju food which typically means naughty little snacks that go hand-in-hand with drinking – think small plates with big flavours.

With seasonally changing dishes that include kimchi, devilled eggs, and crispy shallots; grilled padrón peppers with whipped feta and shin cup seasoning; and Dusty Knuckle sourdough with a spring onion and ginger butter with pickles it sounds like the perfect meeting of Korean flavours and ingredients with British produce. It’s running Thursday to Saturday evenings for the foreseeable future, so there’s plenty of time to get acquainted with JAE.
