It’s coming from the team behind Canary Wharf spot 3KOBROS
Calling all KBBQ fans! You’ll have a new spot to get grilling as SOOM is opening in Covent Garden this November. There’ll be a range of premium meats to cook on the BBQ, with a number of other Korean dishes also on the menu, including:
- tteokbokki
- veggie japchae
- kimchi pancake
- squid and watercress salad
- spicy seafood soup
- tofu bibimbap
- perilla oil buckwheat noodles
- kimchi jjigae
- brown sugar pancakes
You’ll be able to pair all of that with soju, teas and Korean-inspired cocktails. As well as the food, it sounds like the design is going to be a big part of the SOOM experience.
In addition to each stone table concealing a grill, there’ll be a twelve-seat circular table at the centre of the main dining area, underneath a ceiling sculpture referencing traditional Hanok architecture, with a symbolic Jing (a two-metre-wide gong) at the back of the space. The bar will feature a hanji-wrapped counter, celadon vases and mother-of-pearl artwork, with more mother-of-pearl and inkwash landscapes in the private dining room.
