a new bar in Camden town and we’re talking sleek and sophisticated, not dirty indie disco dive. Ketel One Eighty bar opened last week above Asian restaurant Gilgamesh. The bar features full length windows with 180 degrees panoramic views that span not only the depths of Camden but London itself. You may struggle to believe that this was once a dark and dreary storage area in the heart of Camden market.

The bar takes pride of place in the centre of the room and is surrounded by copper stools which took 6 weeks to complete. We attended the opening night and were lucky enough to sample a selection of the cocktails, starting with the From Schiedam with Love made up of Ketel One Citroen vodka, lemon juice, syrup and Elderflower cordial then topped up with Prosecco served in tin kettles which were steaming from the spout! Other cocktails include the Ketel One Spring Punch and the rather lethal Rose Cosmopolitan.

Drinks were served with a selection of canapes from the Gilgamesh kitchen – Mini Chilli Salt Squid, Seabass & Foie Gras Dumpling, Espuma of Potato, Wasabi Crème Fraiche & Caviar and Baby Vegetable Tempura with Citron Yuzu Ponzu. There was also vodka jellies on tap and we have to admit we left a little worse for wear. If you’re looking for cocktails with views in Camden Town make sure you check it out.
