Next Weekend another big festival gets underway with Kendal Calling, voted best medium sized festival in 2013, taking over the fields of the Lake District. Kendal Calling started back in 2006 and has been going from strength to strength ever since, this years bash promises more independently spirited insane fun with Suede, Miles Kane, The Happy Mondays, Augustine, Catfish and the Bottlemen and 2 Many DJ’s all getting us pretty excited about over the three day bash.
It’s not just about the acts on the main stage however, the ‘Calling Out’ stage is where the hottest rising stars can be found with the likes of The 1975, London Grammar, Ghostpoet, Public Service Broadcasting, Toy, Kid British and Wild Beasts all gracing the stage of previous years. Theirs The Glow tent with the latest cutting edge dance acts, Chai Wallah with alt folk, The House Party where the biggest names in DJ’ing make the floor bounce, Tim Peaks Dinner, the brain child of Charlatans front man Mr Burgess where acoustics sets along with weird and wonderful ‘anything goes’ entertainment can be found along with ‘Totes Amazeballs’ cereal…which is totes amaze balls right?
Thats not all, The Woodlands stage…held in the woods (obvs) hosts acts old and new, The Real Ale festival for all your beer needs, a late night cinema, ‘Soul on Wheels’ roller disco where you can skate along to a cosmic blend of boogie, funk & disco from across the decades, performance art, plenty of food and drink and well a whole bloody lot more. We can not wait for this…see you in the fields!
