Okereke has gone so minimalist that he hasn’t even bothered putting on a t-shirt for the press release photo of his new song. Fair enough though given that the video features the 7up man’s long lost brother and the track itself is making us feel all Friday inside- it’s bouncy enough to jive to but still has a relaxed retro appeal.

Bloc Party fans beware, this isn’t anything like what you would expect, it’s a development from previous album ‘The Boxer’ evolving into a grown up take on house music. Think more Four Tet than the ‘Four’ album and you’re bang on the mark.

The LP ‘Trick’ is released October 13th on Lilac Recordings.
