not really sure what to take from Karen O’s video for new track ‘Rapt’ apart from the fact that she can hold her breath under water for a bloody long time. The short but sweet song comes from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs front woman’s upcoming first solo album ‘Crush Songs’, of which she says was written and recorded in private back in her twenties.

“When I was 27 I crushed a lot. I wasn’t sure I’d ever fall in love again. (These songs) are the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on yours.”

Aww ain’t that nice.

Crush Songs is out September 9th on Julian Casablancas’ Cult label.
