Londoners know that Easter long weekend is no reason to leave the city, it’s a reason to stay. Especially once they hear that the Kansas Smitty crew are throwing a free backyard BBQ party guaranteed to make your Good Friday a Great Friday.

From midday, the K-Smitty crew will be taking over Dalston Pond in Gillett Square with live music, booze and soul heartening food. Served at 2pm and 8pm, the family style BBQ will include hot tamales, BBQ ribs, cajun chicken, cheesy grits, collared greens for just £30. Oh and did we mention the bourbon ice cream and jug of bourbon & sweet lemonade they’ll throw in too?

While you chow down, the Kansas Smittys House Band will be serenading you with the sweet sounds of New Orleans, Chicago and of course, Kansas. And Smitty’s Julep bar will be serving up 8 of their signature house Juleps in the signature Monty Cup (yes they have their own cup) as well as the finest local brews.

The party will go til 2am and the best part is, you’ll have the next 3 days to recover! So go on, get your grill on.
