JOSE PIZARRO TO OPEN TWO RESTAURANTS AT THE ROYAL ACADEMY

José Pizarro is responsible for some of the best Spanish restaurants in town and now he’s adding more to his collection with two new openings inside the Royal Academy. Nor only do the restaurants mark José’s first move into Central London, they’re also giving him the chance to combine his love of food with his love of art – he’s quite the collector himself. On the ground floor will be the more informal, tapas bar-style Poster Bar by José, which’ll serve dishes like truffle sandwich, tortilla de patatas, pan con tomate, spicy prawn fritters with lemon aioli, and tuna, onion & red pepper empanada.

Upstairs in the Dorfman Senate Room will be José Pizarro at the RA, which’ll serve a restaurant menu featuring the likes of presa iberica, strawberry gazpacho, black ink croquetas, leeks with romesco sauce, hake in salsa verde, and Mediterranean red prawns with chilli & garlic. The drinks across both spaces will be Spanish, of course, with wines from across the country (including José’s own Chardonnay), an extensive sherry list, and Estrella Damm on tap. Sounds like the art isn’t the only reason to go the RA anymore.
