JKS TO LAUNCH ARCADE FOOD HALL

Arcade Food Theatre opened in the Centre Point building to pretty big fanfare in 2019, with six kitchens plus an incubation space, three bars, a coffee and bakery counter, and residents including Tou by TATA Eatery, Pophams, Oklava and Chotto Matte. Arcade has been closed since the pandemic and when it reopens it’s gonna be a very different place as JKS Restaurants, the group behind the likes of BAO, Hoppers, Brigadiers, Gymkhana and Berenjak, have taken over the space.

The rebranded Arcade Food Hall will feature nine new concepts and a central bar serving up yuzu sake bombs, som tam mojitos and nitro martinis, alongside an Old Fashioned machine, with customers able to order food and drink from the different kitchens direct to their tables. We now know what’s going inside and it sounds pretty epic:

Plaza Khao Gaeng – the first of Luke Farrell’s restaurants, that will focus on curry and rice, making use of fresh curry pastes from small producers in Thailand and fresh ingredients from Luke’s greenhouse at Ryewater. Curries are set to include ‘Gaeng Tai Pla’, mackerel with fermented fish innards, bamboo shoots & Thai aubergine; southern sour orange ‘Gaeng Som’ curry; and ‘Gaeng Gati’, a chicken and coconut curry with betel leaf alongside wok-fried pork and prawn & sator bean stir fries.

Bebek! Bebek! – Luke Farrell’s take on a hawker stand, with a night market-style menu featuring dishes like charcoal-grilled beef satay, spiced Bebek Goreng duck leg and crunchy Ayam Penyet chicken leg.

Hero Indian Fast Food – a North Indian street food kitchen focusing on Punjabi makhani sauce, with dishes like BBQ butter chicken pao, wagyu keema pao & masala fries chaat.

Shatta & Toum – a shawarma kitchen from Berenjak founder Kian Samyani, using khobez bread and fillings like chicken shawarma and marinated lamb doner, alongside a menu of mezze dishes.

Manna – a burger and fried chicken kitchen developed in partnership with Bake Street’s Feroz Gajia, serving Nashville hot tenders, smashed burgers and jalapeno popper fried chicken buns.

Sushi Kamon – a sushi bar and eight-seat counter developed in collaboration with the Yashin Suhi founders, running a weekly-changing sushi menu and bookable omakase experience.

Saborcito – little sister to the Michelin-starred Sabor, with a menu of tapas classics like pulpo a la gallega and tuna empanadilla, and daily changing seafood specials.

Arcade Provisions – a bakery serving Margot’s Pride sandwiches, created by Margot and Hector Henderson of Rochelle Canteen, and seasonal pastries from Flor Bakery.

Benham & Froud Jelladrome by Bompas & Parr – the Jelladrome will be serving up architectural trifles, boozy jelly shots and penny licks from Marshall’s Fancy Ice.
