JERK PIT & REGGAE BAR MA PETITE JAMAICA IS OPENING IN SHOREDITCH

It’s all change for Caribbean restaurants in Shoreditch as Cottons has moved out of its Curtain Road site (to go up the street to a bigger site on Hoxton Square) and Ma Petite Jamaica, which bills itself as London’s first Caribbean diner, is moving in. The second site for the jerk pit and reggae bar, which launched in Camden in 2015, will serve up a menu of Jamaican classics including ackee & saltfish with fried dumplings, chilli battered squid with jerk mayo, ital vegetable curry, fish escovitch with grilled vegetables & fried cassava, curried goat with rice & peas, Red Stripe chicken with rice & plantain, jerk chicken with rice & peas, stewed jackfruit & grilled pineapple burger, and a range of wraps and roti plates.

You can pair all of that with a range of cocktails given a rum twist – we’re talking Jamaican Mules, Spanish Town Rumgria, Black River Iced Teas and Rumpolitans – and just in case that’s not enough rum for your liking, the Ma Petite Jamaica bottomless brunch involves two hours of free-flowing Wray & Nephew rum punch. CHEERS.

Opens Thurs 25th August 2022
