JAPANESE/NORDIC SPACE PANTECHNICON TO OPEN IN BELGRAVIA

Japan is meeting the Nordics in a five-storey dining and retail space in Belgravia this autumn. Pantechnicon is bringing the two cultures together through a cafe, restaurants, a roof garden, a cocktail lounge, retail spaces and more. There will be two concept stores in the building; The Edit on the ground floor, featuring a curated selection of 150 Japanese and Nordic brands, and The Studio on the first floor, which has a wider beauty selection as well as a pop-up and workshop space to host brands, artists and creators.

The Japanese half of the food and drink options include the first perm outlet of Café Kitsuné in the UK serving coffee, salads, Sandos and Japanese pastries; 30-seat pop-up Sachi, which has a menu of comforting Japanese dishes like seven-spice chicken and agedashi dofu; and bottle shop and bar Sakaya, stocked with whisky, umeshu and sake.

On the Nordic side, there’s Eldr, a 70-cover restaurant that celebrates pickling, foraging and cooking over fire, and the Roof Garden at Pantechnicon, with a seasonally-changing cocktail menu designed by bartenders in residence and a small plates menu form Eldr. That lot should keep you going for a while!

Opens Tues 22nd September 2020
