If you’ve not been able to make it over to Japan since the pandemic, you’re in luck because Japan is now coming to you. Japan Matsuri, the free festival of Japanese culture, is returning to Trafalgar Square this year for the first time since 2019. You’ll be able to watch martial arts displays, folk dance processions, and traditional Japanese dancing and drumming; check out pop-up art displays from Japan House; shop artisanal gifts from Ezen Design; and, of course, feast on a variety of Japanese food. There’ll be okonomiyaki, gyozas, takoyaki octopus balls, yakisoba, yakitori, ramen and more on offer with the likes of Heddon Yokocho, Shoryu, Okan and Mugen running food stalls.
