Henri is set to launch inside the Henrietta Hotel in Covent Garden
Not long after his takeover of The Corner at Selfridges, Jackson Boxer is gearing up for another new opening as he’ll be collaborating with Experimental Group on the launch of Henri at the Henrietta Hotel. The restaurant will be inspired by the UK’s continental neighbours with a menu reminiscent of a Parisian bistro, featuring Jackson’s own takes on French classics.
Other than that, we’ve not been given *too* many details about the food at Henri. For now, that’ll be left up to our imagination. But this is not the first time Jackson’s worked with Experimental Group. Last summer, he spearheaded the launch of the restaurant at Cowley Manor Experimental, which was just honoured at Condé Nast Traveller’s inaugural The UK’s Top New Restaurant Awards. So, if it’s anything like their first endeavour, Henri will likely be a hit.
About the upcoming opening, Jackson said: “As a young cook my most eye-opening and palate-enlarging dining experiences involved a cheap early morning Eurostar ticket away. For all the affection and admiration I hold for the global and eclectic nature of my home turf, my reverence for the exceptional produce and imaginative verve of the Parisian bistros of my youth remains undimmed. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved in reimagining the luxurious country house hotel [Cowley Manor] for a contemporary, cosmopolitan crowd, now I’m excited to do the same for a late-night theatreland restaurant in Covent Garden.”
