JACK WHITE IS OPENING A RECORD STORE IN SOHO

If you’ve been down Marshall Street in Soho, you may have seen some strange storefronts at no.1, including Jack’s Muscle Tee Emporium, Harry Lime’s Penicillin and Jack Sharp’s Upholstery Tacks. None of those are real however and have all been a ruse for the new Third Man Records shop from Jack White. His label already has shops in Detroit and Nashville and now he’s coming across the pond to open one in London.

As well as being stocked with records, the store will also be home to a token-operated lucky dip book machine called The Literarium (apparently Margaret Atwood is a fan), a token-operated recording booth where people can record their music straight to vinyl, and an intimate live music venue called The Blue Basement. In celebration of the store, the label has got some of their fave UK artists, including Paul Weller, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Cornershop and The Magic Roundabout to contribute something to the Third Man catalogue, and those releases will be available to buy on black vinyl once the store has opened.

Opens Sat 25th September 2021
