ITALIAN PASTA RESTAURANT MISCUSI TO OPEN IN COVENT GARDEN

It’s a big hit over in its native Italy – there are 12 restaurants in seven cities – and now miscusi is coming to London, opening at The Yards in Covent Garden later this autumn. Founded by entrepreneur Alberto Cartasegna, miscusi is all about championing a sustainable Mediterranean diet and lifestyle – of which eating together forms its foundation, using quality produce to create nutritionally balanced and great tasting dishes. And it’s serious about sustainability too; miscusi runs a regenerative agriculture project just outside of Milan and is certified B Corp, so once the London restaurant is open it’ll be working towards being plastic-free and zero-waste. The restaurant will even be rewarding customers for choosing dishes that are good for the planet, by offering double loyalty scheme points for the four pasta dishes with the lowest carbon footprint.

Fresh pasta with simple and seasonal ingredients is at the heart of miscusi, with faves including pacchero tricolore with pistachio, burrata & tomato sauce; cacio pepe funghi; carbonara; and chickpea rigatoni with tuna & pistachio cream. But there’ll also be a selection of starters and desserts too – over in Italy these include burrata, bruschetta, tiramisu and torta della nonna – with plenty of wines and flowing water foundations for those off the booze. There are a lot of fresh pasta joints in London already but miscusi is set to be a great addition to the scene.
