This September, Isla will be returning to the Standard Hotel in King’s Cross and everything from the menu to the garden terrace has been re-designed. The all-day dining restaurant nestled within the hotel’s ground floor will focus on seafood and light dishes that change throughout the seasons, overspilling into the garden terrace to offer al-fresco dining too.
When it comes to food, expect the likes of scallop XO and mussels; ‘nduja and sweet potatoes with aged feta and sesame; whole lemon sole with seaweed butter; and Ikejime trout with salsa verde. As well as things like purin (a Japanese custard pudding) with Tahitian vanilla and poached pineapple with bread (yes, bread) ice cream featuring on the dessert menu. The drinks menu focusses largely on natural and low intervention wines, with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails on offer too. So whether you’ve just stepped off the train or got time to kill before catching one, Isla will do the job.
