Longtime Londoners may remember Ironmonger Road Baths back in the day when you could pay something like £15, get entry to the baths and a good scrub down by the *therapist. Well that was back in the day and now after a £16.5 million refurb they have re-opened and are looking pretty impressive.
The building which was originally constructed in 1931 now has a huge swimming pool, gym, exercise studios and the Turkish Baths have been changed into a modern spa area. However there is no word on whether or not the scrubbing treatments will come back – we bloody hope so! Oh and you’ll all be pleased to hear swimming costumes are not optional anymore – amen to that.
