Tribes are one of the hottest underground bands around at the moment, but one that has been built up proper by good old fashioned word of mouth. Heavenly influenced by American music such as Pixies, Nirvana, very early 90s guitar bands, Tribes make heavy music with big sing along melodies, just listen to their Ep ‘We were Children‘ it is great. Hailing from Camden they played an epic performance at The Camden Crawl last weekend. We caught up with them before they explode…
US: Where are you and what is going on?
TRIBES: In Liverpool recording the album with Mike Crossy.
US: How has the reaction to your Ep ‘We were Children’ been so far?
TRIBES: It’s been great. It’s been exciting hearing it on the radio so much. We are really happy with how it sounds.
US: You have a busy schedule building up pretty fast, these must be exciting times. Any stories you would like to entertain us with?
TRIBES: We start touring next week. it’s been 12 hours a day in the studio for 5 weeks straight.
US: What new music have you been listening to/watching recently?
TRIBES: Saw a band called The Supernovas at Camden Crawl, real punk vibe, loved it.
US: The best places to hangout in London are…?
TRIBES: It depends what you’re into but we like Camden because that’s where all our friends are.
US: Are you looking to put out an album soon or just enjoying the ride…we heard you do have the hottest record in the world?
TRIBES: Yeah we signed to Island records two months ago and we are making the record now so it will be out after the summer. It’s great people are enjoying the EP but we don’t feel like we have even started yet, its all about the album for us.
