Sera
played the last show of their tour with Jenny and Johnny at The Luminaire on a Friday night in December. We managed to get a few words with the brains behind the new project Katy Goodman.

US: How did La Sera come about, are you worried you will be compared to the Vivian Girls?

KATY: La Sera came about because I started writing songs on my own, and I’m not worried about being compared to Vivian Girls at all. It is completely expected and natural to be compared to Vivian Girls, since I am a member. I love having both opportunities to make music.

US: So the last night of the tour saw Jennifer’s amp cave in on itself, any other stories from the previous three weeks?

KATY: The tour was pretty calm, except for driving through tons all of snow all the time, which was rather stressful.
US: We like your video for ‘Never Come Around‘ – Is this what goes on in your head?

KATY: Haha, no, murder is not constantly on my mind. Only sometimes.

US: When you are in London where do you like to hangout?

KATY: I like to hang out at Male Bonding’s apartment and then walk around the corner for Turkish food. That is pretty much my main activity when I’m in London.

US: What music are you listening to at the moment?

KATY: I’ve been listening to a lot of  Tennis, who we are going on tour with in March. They are so good. I also can’t get Jenny and Johnny songs out of my head, they are so addictive. I’ve been listening to the Young Prisms album a lot, too.

US: Christmas is nearly here and we haven’t started our Christmas shopping yet, how will you be spending the holidays?

KATY: I am going to New Jersey to hang out with my parents. It will probably be pretty mellow. Probably no murder.

Thanks to Katy and Nita from Gold Star PR.
