Nonna Bakery’s second UK site has landed on Drury Lane, in Covent Garden. It follows the brand’s UK debut in Holborn earlier this year, which opened to queues out the door. The brand started in Shanghai in 2022, when Sicilian lawyer Matteo Cicero couldn’t find the bread he grew up on and decided to make it himself. It now runs 15 sites across China, with Drury Lane marking the next step in its UK expansion -complete with a refreshed look built around a curved island counter.
The menu features all their signature items: cornetti filled with pistachio cream, chocolate or seasonal custard, ricotta cannoli, focaccia and regional breads baked fresh through the day. Drury Lane also gets two exclusives. The Eton Mess Maritozzo takes the Roman sweet bun and loads it with cream, strawberries and meringue; the Pane Cunzatu is a Sicilian sandwich from the Aeolian Islands, where co-founders Matteo Cicero and Dr Jonathan Hazon first met.
We’ve teamed up with Nonna Bakery to offer our INSIDERS paid subscribers 50% off, Sundays only, for four weeks from 4th October. Flash your pass at the till.
