We’ve covered London’s struggling late night scene extensively over the last couple of years. Venue closures are happening at an alarming rate, and so there’s understandably been a fair amount of negativity. However, Kirk Allen is set on changing the narrative.
Kirk has bought and refurbished the legendary XOYO, which has hosted performances from the likes of Drake, Skepta, The Blessed Madonna, Fatboy Slim and Bicep, and is turning the Shoreditch club into a hotspot once again.
“I’ve taken it over but I haven’t just come in to paint over its history. We’ve renovated the whole space – new layout, new sound, new production, built for how people go out now.”
