Independent Venue Week is back for its eighth year and obviously with a pandemic going on, it’s going online with over 110 venues across the country hosting virtual events, including performances, panel discussions and interviews. Charity music festival Music Feeds has performances from Sam Smith, Fontaines D.C., Liam Gallagher, Amy Macdonald, Blossoms and more, and Gruff Rhys has curated online festival Ara Deg featuring Welsh artists, which’ll be streamed from Neuadd Ogwen. Arlo Parks will be performing from Bush Hall with streams also coming from the likes of Young Knives, Idles, New Model Army and Bombay Bicycle Club across the week.

You’ll also be able to tune into interviews with Johnny Marr, Skin, Roni Size, and Brix Smith; panels on the night time economy, accelerating your music career, and the future of live music; the premiere of documentary On The Road With Independent Venue Week; and music quizzes.

Many of the venues participating have given both artists and fans their first experiences of playing and watching live music – check out some very memorable moments right here – and having been out of action for almost a year, the industry needs support more than ever right now, so get involved!
