Meantime’s#BeerBox was a standout success last year and this year the London craft brewer is going one better by bringing live music from some of the capital’s hottest up and coming bands for a series of free outdoor gigs to accompany your fine craft ale.
Based outside the O2 Arena in North Greenwich, the #BeerBox is a pair of shipping containers converted into an iconic outdoor bar perfect for summer evenings. The gigs take place conveniently just before events at The O2, hence the clever name, ‘In the Meantime Sessions’, and the series of six dates a run in partnership with OnBlackheath festival, which returns for a second year in south east London. Acts for the sessions include some of London hottest new talent such as FURS, the psychedelic pop band setting the capital’s music scene alight, and Bad for Lazarus, who describe themselves as heavy, nasty pop with guitars – what’s not to love?
Just in case you were wondering why Meantime has decided to champion these emerging talents, it’s because they’re the official beer partner of OnBlackheath and will be helping to curate the Meantime Sessions Stage, a celebration of the next generation of musical talent. So whether you’re a Greenwich local or not, the journey to The O2 is now looking a whole lot more appealing with award-winning craft ales, amazing live music, and an outdoor bar in one of London’s most iconic riverside locations. We’ll see you down the front!
