day, another East London railway arch restaurant announced for next spring! Hot on the heels of Haggerston’s Berber and Q is Il Cudega, an Italian restaurant and deli that will open in March 2015 in a railway arch just off Westgate Street (opposite Netil Market).

Il Cudega is not just any Italian joint, however, as it will focus entirely on food and wine from the Lombardy region (that’s the northernmost part including Milan). Some of the things we’ll be tucking in to include Rustin Nega (veal roasted in white wine); Risotto Saltato (saffron risotto fried into a thin layer); and lots of great cheese and charcuterie including goose salami!

The owners have also just launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogoto raise funds for the creation of a communal outdoor space which will have a fruit and vegetable garden, seating areas, bike racks and an outdoor food stall. There’s some nice perks on offer ranging from charcuterie hampers to cooking courses – check the video here.
