IKEA Is Doing a Homeware Collab With Gustaf Westman

Major news for interior obsessives

Swedish designer Gustaf Westman is known for his playful furniture and homeware, including those brightly coloured chunky plates wavy mirrors you’ve definitely seen on social media. This autumn, he’s teaming up with another massive name in Swedish design for a collab collection – yes an IKEA range is on the way.

The collaboration was announced during IKEA’s annual Democratic Design Days event (along with another collab range with Swedish artist Evelina Kroon) and it will be centred around celebrations, reinterpreting what these traditions look like and “emphasising the idea that any day can be a reason to celebrate.” The collection is due to drop in the autumn, meaning we can dose up on dopamine decor just in time for Christmas.

Speaking about the range, “For me, this is an opportunity to turn traditional holiday aesthetics on their heads by introducing a sense of playfulness and boldness. This is my interpretation of holidays, it’s a new design for a new generation. One thing that remains the same when it comes to celebration is centred around getting together with friends and family, regardless of how you define them.”

We don’t have any details on the types of pieces that be included in the collection, but we’d expect to see lots of bold colours, fun shapes and affordable prices.
