IDRIS ELBA IS OPENING A WINE BAR IN KING’S CROSS

He’s an actor, producer and DJ and now Idris Elba is adding wine bar owner to his extensive CV as he prepares to open a Porte Noire bar in King’s Cross this autumn with co-founder David Farber of Connaught Wines. The pair are bringing their wine and champagne brand to life with a spot at the foot of the Gasholders in Coal Drops Yard, which will include a bar, dining room, shop, outdoor space and one of the largest fine wine tasting rooms in the city.

There’ll be a vast selection of wines on offer – we’re talking around 800 bins – from rare bottles to wines on tap so all tastes (and hopefully all budgets) are covered. To go with all that vino, Porte Noire will serve up cheese and charcuterie platters and a French brasserie-style menu featuring the likes of ouefs meurette and slow-cooked beef cheek with pommes puree & leek persillade. We’ll drink to that.

Opens Mon 18th October 2021
Unit A Gasholder 10, 1 Lewis Cubitt Square, London, N1C 4BY
