Fancysome rib-tickling, piss-taking satire? Then feast your eyes on the latest exhibition by the witty and wonderful Ian Stevenson at KK Outlet gallery in Hoxton. A chap of many talents, the 38-year-old is best known for ‘art bombing’ all sorts of objects, from record sleeves and old photos to wheelie bins and removal skips. His quest is to observe the madness of 21st century goings-on and then to playfully ridicule it through provoking illustrations, paintings, sculptures and graffiti. Fans of David Shrigley will bloody love it!
He’s had a pop at some pretty heavy-hitters too – Mickey Mouse, McDonald’s, Jesus – but take it with a pinch of salt and you won’t get your knickers in that much of a twist. If anything, you’ll discover that one man’s trash is Stevenson’s treasure.
