Ashley Mah and David Dalrymple have got a new site in East Dulwich
Ashley and Dave, founders of Banook Bagels, are the creators of ‘the original south London’ bagel – the perfect blend of NYC size and fluffiness and Montreal crispness and density. After starting their bagel biz during lockdown, the pair were trading out of a small site in Peckham, and now they’ve levelled up with a proper shop in East Dulwich – the one with the butter yellow striped awning.
All Banook Bagels are rolled, boiled and baked by hand, and you can find the full range of flavours – plain, sesame, everything, poppy seed, rosemary & salt, cinnamon raisin and jalapeno cheddar – at the new bakery, alongside regular, green onion & chive, jalapeno and maple cream cheeses.
They’re also doing filled bagels, with options including ham, mustard mayo and Monterey Jack cheese; smoked trout, cream cheese, pickled red onions and capers; and tomatoes with green onion & chive cream cheese. And as the new space is much bigger, we’d expect the menu to expand.
