how the london skyline will take shape

Any idea what the London skyline might look like in 2026? Well then, take a peek at this. With a total of 500 new skyscrapers set to sore into the sky, one rocketing to a height of 290 meters these CGIs, spotted on Secret London, have been created to show how the Big Smoke skyline will form over the next decade. Many of the works on these new builds is already underway with more due to start in the coming months which will evolve London’s financial district.

Change is coming to all corners of our capital. Croydon will be home to 27 new builds, Newham 39, Southwark 48 and Tower Hamlets a head spinning 85 new skyscrapers.

Not all of us will be looking up at them – loads of us will be living in them. 90% of the new skyscraper plans are residential, brining 100,000 new homes to London. Views from the top anyone?

So, we’ll have a new tallest building in London, lots more londoners residing in the sky and no doubt a few more nicknames kicking about to match The Cheesegrater and The Gherkin. Mushroom perhaps? Ladder even? Who knows. Watch this space…
