After launching during the first lockdown (and winning one of our Lockdown Awards), Hot 4 U aka Eddy Tejada (ex-St John and Silo) and Matthew Scott (ex-Head Chef of Cub), have gone from delivering weekly set menus to popping up at Carousel and Chicken Shop to securing a permanent residency at The Plough in Homerton which launches today, 2nd December.
The pair will be showcasing their signature fun and eclectic style with dishes like oysters with green glitter sabayon, beef or mushroom XO flatbread, chicken offal skewer with smoked mayo, grilled salsify with romesco & aged cheese, and halibut head with preserved lemon & pepper dulse tapenade. And of course the famous bone marrow whisky luge will be making an appearance.
They’ll be doing a Hot 4 U Sunday roast too with garlic butter chicken supreme, porchetta. aged beef sirloin, or hay aged celeriac loin served with all the trimmings and gravy, and panettone tiramisu and buttermilk pannacotta with mulled pears for puds. And that’s just the start as the guys are already planning BBQs and basement karaoke parties for the future, so watch this space.
