HERE’S WHERE TO GET PATRÓN MARGARITAS IN LONDON TO CELEBRATE MARGARITA MONTH

PATRÓN is going big for International Margarita Day by teaming up with a host of London bars to put on special serves

The Margarita is one of the world’s most iconic cocktails, so of course, PATRÓN is celebrating International Margarita Day – it’s 22nd February if you didn’t already know – in style by bringing an authentic taste of Mexico’s cantina culture to London, with a helping hand from two Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers.

‘La Cantina de Margarita’ will be popping up at One Hundred Shoreditch on 22nd February, pairing complimentary botanas (traditional Mexican small plates) with PATRÓN Margaritas. Tom has created the botanas, which include fresh corn taco with lobster and PATRÓN Silver gel and sweet potato and orange camotes, to perfectly complement the flavours of the Margaritas on the menu so it’s the ultimate way to toast to International Margarita Day.

Both Hacha bars will be pairing exclusive PATRÓN cocktails, created by owner and agave expert Deano Moncrieff, with botanas from Tigre Tacos in Dalston and Nopalito in Brixton. There’ll also be 1,000 limited-edition bottles of the award winning Mirror Margarita available to purchase from 22nd February – 22nd March, each containing a unique QR code to enter a competition to win a trip to Tulum, so you’ll definitely want to get involved.

The month-long Margarita celebrations don’t stop there. Side Hustle at The NoMad is kicking things off with live music, a complimentary taco with each PATRÓN Margarita sold, and three special serves on 22nd February. Alongside the classic PATRÓN Margarita, Side Hustle will also be shaking up the Dr Feel Good, with PATRÓN Reposado, avocado, suze, génépi, lemon & Aleppo pepper, just for the day, and a rhubarb twist on the cocktail, with PATRÓN Silver, forced rhubarb, bitter orange liqueur, yuzu & cucumber, for the whole month.

A host of bars within the Cahoots and Mr Fogg’s line up in the capital (including Mr Fogg’s Apothecary and Mr Fogg’s Residence in Mayfair, Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals in Fitzrovia, Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration in Covent Garden, and Mrs Fogg’s in Liverpool Street) are adding three special serves to their cocktail menu for the month, making use of PATRÓN Silver, PATRÓN Reposado and PATRÓN Añejo, with their own twists. For a fruiter take on the classic, head for the London EDITION, where you’ll be able to get a Rosita, made with PATRÓN Silver, kumquat, grapefruit, cherry liqueur, lime & Peychaud bitters, for the whole of Margarita month.

And if you can’t get out to any of the participating bars, you can still get involved with International Margarita Day celebrations by shaking up a PATRÓN Classic Margarita at home. Here’s how to make one:

Ingredients

50ml PATRÓN Silver
25ml Fresh lime juice
20ml Premium Orange Liqueur
5ml Agave syrup
1x Lime wedge for garnish (optionally, using a lime wedge, wet half of your glass rim, dip into sea salt and place in the freezer)

Method

1. Combine liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice and shake for eight seconds
2. Remove your glass from the freezer
3. Strain into your favourite glass (on the rocks or straight up) and garnish with a lime wedge

Two easy ways to create a twist on a Margarita at home:

1. Replace Premium Orange Liqueur a total of 20ml of agave syrup to make a Tommy’s Margarita
2. Add slices of red chilli (to taste) to the shaker and fine strain to create a Spicy Margarita
