Head to Los Mochis in the City for a Ten-Course Tuna Ceremony

Tuna fans won’t wanna miss this

First it was Tuna Fight Club at Supermarket of Dreams in Holland Park and now Los Mochis in the City is running an immersive whole tuna event series. TENrei: The Art of Tuna Ceremony, held monthly on the second Tuesday of the month (and then bi-weekly in the new year), showcases the art of traditional tuna preparation, where the chefs, led by Executive Head Chef Leonard Tanyag, break down a whole Bluefin tuna sustainably sourced from Balfegó in Spain, explaining the different techniques used and the flavours of each cut.

Following the preparation, the kitchen then serves up a ten-course Japanese menu (completely gluten and nut-free) showcasing the tuna, with dishes including:

  • akami, yuzu soy and avocado tostadito
  • spicy tuna and avocado crema crispy rice
  • akami tartare with citrus truffle soy and caviar
  • akami carpaccio with wasabi truffle soy and crispy onion
  • akami, chutoro and otoro sashimi
  • akami truffle, aburi chutoro uni and otoro caviar nigiri
  • spicy tuna tempura maki

The 12-seater experience costs £195 per person and if you really want to push the boat out, there’s an optional sake or wine pairing available to add on for £110.
