Finding a new hairdresser is no easy feat – you’ve got to get cut by a few frogs before you find your Prince of Salons
I’ve been on the lookout after my old hairdresser retrained to be a therapist, which kind of makes sense when you think about all of the secrets that are spilled in the chair. Enter Philipp Haug, who, along with his wife Siobhan, has opened Haug London Haus, a cute, sustainable boutique salon in the heart of Fitzrovia. The couple were previously at Toni + Guy working in the education department and have huge reps within the hair industry, though more so with trade than consumers, so opening a new salon was quite the gamble.
Luckily it seems to have paid off. As well as access to these two master trainers and a squad of great staff, the salon also partners with Schwarzkopf to provide products and cutting edge tech, which allows you to see the health of your hair and offer a bespoke treatment to suit. My hair was rated at 91%, the highest score Philipp said he’d ever seen! WINNING. I was also asked what my main concerns were and was then prescribed a treatment that involved an ample head massage and hot towel.
Once done, I was given a smart new chop including new wispy bangs and a slick blow dry. A week on and I am still loving my hair – it’s looking like I might just have found my new salon of choice.
