hang-ten at hang-up gallery

In a world where online is increasingly replacing reality, it is refreshing to see a gallery which started as an online platform in a spare room celebrate its tenth anniversary in a real gallery! A space where people can view the artworks close-up with their own eyes, meet the artists in person, catch up with other fans and supporters and have a drink together, and Hang-Up gallery did exactly that with a party to celebrate a decade since opening!

Following this event on 21 June, the aptly titled ‘Hang-Ten’ has launched; a ten week festival incorporating an exhibition, limited edition prints talks, workshops and a variety of artist events emanating from the double-level gallery space in Dalston. Three standout events over the next ten weeks include the opportunity to collaborate with Oddly Head and paint your own hand-cast ice cream cone this Saturday (7 July), immerse yourself in an aura reading workshop with neon artist Lauren Baker on 2 August, or watch a bic-biro maestro Mark Powell in a live drawing session on 18 August. With works by Banksy, The Conor Brothers, Sir Peter Blake, Jonathon Reiner and Harland Miller amongst others on display as well as the bar in the basement Bunker, make sure you find some time over the summer to hang out at Hang-Up.
