Hand-Pulled Noodle Restaurant SanHao to Open in Chinatown

It’ll be taking over a prime spot on the corner of Gerrard Street and Gerrard Place

London’s love of noodles shows no signs of abating as a new restaurant showcasing hand-pulled noodles and soups is coming to Chinatown this year. SanHao comes from the same team behind Hong Kong-style cafe The Eight and pan-Asian spot YiQi, making it the third Chinatown site for the restaurateurs.

Hand-pulled noodle dishes from across China and Southeast Asia, like Alaska crab noodles, wild mushroom noodle soup and cappuccino free-range chicken noodle soup, will feature on the menu alongside pan-fried buns. The interiors of the 3000 sq ft space will take inspo from Jiangnan in Eastern China, with a slick colour palette of black, white and grey.

Speaking about the opening, founder Keng Yew Leong said, “SanHao’s debut in Chinatown London marks another successful collaboration with Shaftesbury Capital and we are delighted to bring an authentic experience to what is the leading ESEA cultural hub in the UK. The success of The Eight and YiQi fills us with great confidence in how our SanHao concept will be received by visitors and we look forward to opening our doors to the Chinatown London community later this year.”
