blogger Clare Tucker of 1-2 Hear Promotions hit Festibelly last weekend. Check out her review below….

Festibelly is the perfect small festival with a capacity of just 3,000 – they started off with only 500 people three years ago so this is an organic baby growing straight out of the Festibelly womb. The festival is easy to get to, just 2 hours outside of London via train and due to the size of the field you can always find your tent no matter how wasted you are, always a bonus!

The crowd were a great mix of all ages and despite a couple of heavy downpours the sun broke through the clouds to shine on the happy people. The music policy is heavily folked based but there is also a good variety of quality electro music however you won’t find any typical indie guitar bands on the agenda. Highlights for us were Stoke Newington’s Skinny Lister a rum drinking, traditional folk, swashbuckling ramshackle pop band who had the crowd singing along in no time.

Mercury album nominated Ghost Poets performance in the Amazing Radio tent stole the show and was an absolute treat with a very special moment had by all..let’s hope this guy is the very deserving winner! Headlining were New Young Pony Club with their electro pop sounds; lead singer Tahita Bulmer sparkled on stage with a white sequined dress and a stage presence not to be reckoned with. The music was of high quality along with the food ; fresh chicken paella and Halloumi toasties were washed down with lots of beer which kept us dancing into the early hours.

Festibelly we loved digesting you and certainly will be coming back for more…see you in 2012!
