GREEK RESTAURANT SMASHING PLATES OPENS IN LONDON BRIDGE

Smashing Plates, the new Greek restaurant from The Athenian co-founder Neofytos Christodoulou has opened in London Bridge (on the site where The Athenian was) smashing out classic Greek street food dishes with an unorthodox spin. Gyros are at the heart of the menu – there are pork, chicken, lamb and plant-based versions – with sides like Greek salads and spanakopita filo rolls. Everything is super fresh too – there are no freezers on site and the is meat butchered in-house and grilled to order, before being stuffed into wraps with salad and sauces.

You can expect bold Mediterranean flavours, welcoming Greek hospitality, meats on the chargrill, oh and of course plenty of baklava for afters. And with takeovers of The Athenian sites in Tooting, Wembley and Canary Wharf in the works, these wraps will be taking over town.
