If you’re looking for somewhere a bit different to stay in Manchester, Great John Street Hotel is the one. Set in an old red brick Victorian school building, the hotel boasts 30 loft-style rooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows and cast-iron fireplaces.
Each room has been individually designed and you can expect lots of original features including exposed brickwork, wooden floors and steel beams, that are softened with rich colour schemes and cosy fabrics. The bathrooms are a little slice of luxury too with walk-in rain showers and cast-iron roll top tubs – big enough for two! It had that wow factor and screams for a really rest and recuperation…get us in that giant bed.
[URIS id=92961]The rooms are pretty on point at Great John Street, but one of our fave features of the hotel is their roof terrace with hot tub and bar and if you don’t fancy braving the great outdoors, you can always get cosy by the library’s log burner. When it comes to the food there’s no formal restaurant, but they do serve light dishes and afternoon tea in the library and Oyster Bar. It really is quite the place, elegant with bucket loads of charm but without any pretentiousness what’s so ever. It’s a beaut.
