GOLDEN GAI TO OPEN IN SOHO

After starting life as a tiny six-seater bar inside Japanese-Italian restaurant Angelina in Dalston, Golden Gai is heading for a bigger site in Soho. The cocktail and wine bar is inspired by the tiny bars of its namesake district in Tokyo, and like its big sister, it’ll blend Japanese and Italian flavours across both the drinks and food menus. Cocktails like Itameshi (Vin Santo, Montanaro Rosso, whisky & fish dashi), Ceremonial Sour (Yama matcha, matcha Kit Kat, double cream & coffee) and Milk & Melograno (pomegranate punch, grappa, sake & rum) will sit alongside an Italian wine list, with bottles also available to takeaway.

The Angelina team has taken charge of the food menu creating dishes designed to be paired with drinks, like a cheese board with aged tofu with moromi-miso, chicken karaage, tuna with lardo, and piadine (folded flatbread with cheese) topped with caviar and truffle, so you can defo have a substantial meal whilst you’re boozing.
