GOD’S OWN JUNKYARD TO TAKE OVER LEADENHALL MARKET FOR A NEON EXHIBITION

Walthamstow’s neon paradise God’s Own Junkyard is heading to the City and taking over Leadenhall Market with an immersive exhibition spread across multiple units and installations. Electric City will showcase some of God’s Own Junkyard pieces created especially for movies in a part of London that has been seen on screen in the likes of Harry Potter and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and it’ll be totally free to enter.

The Braceys, owners of God’s Own Junkyard, started making sings and neons for films with Blade Runner and they’ve been working with on film sets for the past 40 years. Some of the archive works that will be on display include Greenwich Village signs recreated for Pinewood studios for Eyes Wide Shut, neon items from Judge Dredd, and pieces from Batman, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Dark Knight and Tomb Raider. None of the movie signs will be available to buy but there will be a selection of pieces to buy online if you want some neon in your life.
