GO ON AN AUGMENTED REALITY ART TRAIL IN THE WEST END

If you’re not quite ready to get back inside an art gallery (or you can’t get tickets – anyone who’s tried to get them for Yayoi Kusama at the Tate knows what we’re talking about), you can now see a selection of classic and contemporary paintings on the streets of the West End. The Augmented Gallery is a new interactive art trail that uses QR codes and AR tech to display these masterpieces in 3D. There are twenty frames containing the QR codes across the West End, from the National Gallery to Fortnum & Mason, with pieces from Van Gogh, Titian, Artemisia Gentileschi, Tracey Emin and portraits of Sir Ian McKellen, Malala Yousafazi and Nile Rodgers on show.

You can view the paintings and listen to audio commentaries on each piece with the Art of London AR Gallery app, on iOS here and Android here.
