Festival season is finally on the horizon and it’s kicking off with SicilyFEST
SicilyFEST has been bringing the tastes, smells and sounds of Sicily to London since 2016 and the festival is back for 2023, taking over the Business Design Centre in Islington for four whole days this April. Sicily has an incredibly rich food culture and you’ll be able to try lots of the island’s signature dishes, including arancini, panelle, cannoli, fritto misto, Sicilian chocolate and a range of fresh pastas, at the festival, alongside plenty of Sicilian liqueurs, gin and wine.
In fact, there’ll be something extra special for wine lovers to get stuck into at SicilyFEST with wine tasting sessions featuring some of the island’s best wineries, like Pietradolce, Marchesi di Rampingallo, Baglio Oro and Tenute Lombardo, with exclusively paired appetisers taking place across the four days. For the foodies, there’ll be a host of cooking masterclasses, done in collaboration with APCI UK (Associazione Professionale Cuochi Italiani – UK Chapter) and featuring chefs Loredana Crisafi, Vittori Meli and Enzo Oliveri, presenting a modern spin on traditional Sicilian recipes.
It’s not only about the food and drink though as SicilyFEST also boasts an all-Italian music line-up, with Sud Sound System, Lello Analfino, Vincenzo Spampinato, and Davide Shorty all performing, with Jerry Prestigiacomo and 180GR experience DJ sets. With a special kids corner run by UK charity Children Do Matter, as well as all that Sicilian food, drink and culture, there’s fun for the whole fam at SicilyFEST.
